Prattville’s Way Off Broadway Theatre is currently performing their rendition of Paul Slade Smith’s “The Outsider.” Opening Night, September 22, was a huge success and your last chance to view this artistry is this weekend, October 7-9. To purchase tickets you can go to their site where tickets are $10 or you can purchase them at the door for $12.

The Director, Melissa Strickland, has an opening letter in the program that says “The Outsider is about politics. Well, not really. It’s about people and the humor we find in our everyday lives, and it allows us to laugh at aspects of humanity that in another context might not be so comical. And while we know that politics doesn’t always seem very funny, Paul Slade Smith does a wonderful job humorously highlighting both the good and bad aspects of it…all the while reminding us of what the big picture really should be. It’s witty, entertaining, and above all, non-partisan–which is probably the most important thing of all.”

The cast includes Ashley Nicole Portis, Roy Goldfinger, Jason Bush, Douglas Dean Mitchell, Drey Nelson, Kristen VanderWal, and Stephanie Higley, and the set is a modern governor’s office. The group has been rehearsing since August and the play is a fun take on perception. They have worked really hard to keep your attention, even those who despise politics, by sharing Smith’s humorous play perfectly. When you see them, you truly see relationships that you come to care about while understanding both sides of the same coin that is politics.

Don’t miss your last chance to see this cast in their production of “The Outsider,” Thursday October 7-October 9, in Downtown Prattville. Their next production will be “A Seussified Christmas Carol” December 8-18.
