Businesses Team up to support National Child Abuse Prevention

FROM CASA

COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATES

In observance of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, two local businesses recently teamed up for snack drives and fundraisers aimed at supporting CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) of the River Region.

River Bank & Trust and Farmers Feed Service partnered to raise more than $300 in donations along with enough snacks to benefit more than 100 children. The snacks will be provided to children spending extended time in court as their cases work through the judicial system.

“We are so grateful to our partners in the community for their kindhearted support of our area’s most vulnerable children,” said Charity Alpert, Executive Director of CASA of the River Region. “Donations like these are an invaluable part of our mission to always be there for the River Region’s abused and neglected children navigating the child welfare system.”

Founded in 2020, CASA of the River Region was rebranded from CASA of Montgomery County in 2023 after service was expanded to Elmore County. The program currently advocates for over 115 children in both Montgomery and Elmore Counties.

Individuals interested in donating or volunteering for CASA of the River Region can do so at casaoftheriverregion.org/get-involved.
