The Prattville Service League is reimagining their vision and hosting a “Membership Tea” on October 22 at 204 Poplar Street.

This is to grow the group to new levels post-Covid. PSL is a staple of the Prattville Community and they have new ideas to revitalize the group.

In the past, PSL has hosted the Annual Labor Day BBQ, Miss Labor Day Pageant, golf tournaments, scholarship receptions and more, however, it has been over a decade since some of these events have happened. The new leadership of the Service League plans to change that, and it starts with the community’s help.

Their membership drive is ongoing and they are having a meeting on October 22 at 4 p.m. to explain their purpose and plans for the new year.

President Leigh Hall said “The impact the Service League has on the Prattville area is one that has been felt for decades. I remember helping with the BBQ and Golf Tournament when my mom was a part of PSL and learned from a young age how important it is to give back to the community. Prattville has given us all so much and we love helping where we can, whether it is giving scholarships to deserving students, helping teachers in their classrooms, or providing Christmas gifts for families in need. We don’t want the organization to go away, so we are hoping this membership drive is fruitful.”

PSL is made up of a diverse group of women and they want to continue that tradition. If you have a servant’s heart, want to work hard for your community, and care about giving back no matter your age, if you’ve served before, if you don’t have children, if you work full time, or if you are retired – then you are wanted and needed as a member of the Service League.

If you are interested in joining this organization and helping save a local institution, please reach out to Leigh Hall via the Prattville Service League Facebook Page to RSVP to the Tea on October 22. All information can be found on their flier and their page.
