Jersee Carter Signs Scholarship with Chipola Junior College, 2021 State Championship Softball Program

From Rebecca W. Thomas

Marketing and Communications Director

Prattville Christian Academy is proud to announce that Jersee Carter, the first of this year’s senior class of Lady Panthers, signed a Letter of Intent to play softball with Chipola Junior College in Marianna, Florida. She will begin her collegiate softball career alongside a former PCA teammate who joined the Indians this season.

Jersee Carter has been an outfield starter since joining the Lady Panthers softball team in the seventh grade. She earns her position with a career fielding percentage of .987. As a converted slapper who never looked back when the batting technique clicked during her freshman year, Jersee is as much of a force offensively as in the field. With 85 stolen bases in her high school career so far, a .341 batting average, and nearly 50% on base, she is a stand-out player ready to take on the next level of play.

“Jersee is truly our team’s leader,” said Randy Stough, PCA’s head softball coach. “She sets the tempo for us; we generally play well if she is getting on base and being aggressive on the bases. As the lead-off hitter, she sets the tone for us.” Jersee is expecting a huge senior year! She is working towards leading the Lady Panthers back to Oxford to bring home PCA’s second state softball title.

“Carter has a great work ethic in the weight room, on the field, and in the classroom. She leads by example and can back up anything she asks her teammates to do,” said Coach Stough. I’m excited to see her progress this season because we have unfinished business to take care of this year.”
