Alpha Love 2 Life recently hosted its Summer Grief Relief Program at the Cia Sandtown Kids Journey Program, creating a safe and supportive space for young people to explore grief, healing, and hope.
Councilwoman and certified Life Coach Jacquelyn Long Thomas facilitated the discussion and interactive activities using the beloved children’s book, “The Invisible String”. Participants, ranging in age from 7 to 17, shared heartfelt stories about the loss of loved ones, beloved pets, and even the sadness that comes with moving away from friends. Together, they discovered how the “invisible string” symbolizes the unbreakable bonds of love and connection that remain despite separation and loss.
Drawing on her experience as a retired educator and her training as a Life Coach, Mrs. Thomas compassionately guided the youth through meaningful conversations that touched their hearts and encouraged emotional healing.
Savannah Williams, founded Alpha Love 2 Life after the sudden loss of her PawPaw, Dedrick Bowden. She emphasizes the importance of openly discussing grief and celebrating the cherished memories of those we have lost. She also shared insights from her inspiring book, “Rainbow Tears of Joy,” reminding participants that healing begins when we honor both our tears and our treasured moments.
Alpha Love 2 Life extends its sincere appreciation to the Director of the Kids Journey Program, Monique Abram, for embracing this initiative and partnering to provide such a meaningful experience for the youth. Together, we are helping young hearts heal—one conversation at a time.
