The 2027 Prattville softball team is going to have a roster featuring multiple players that will move on to the college ranks. Following the commitments of Cadence Forrester to Gulf Coast State and Addison Lee to Faulkner, rising senior Haylee Coleman is the latest Lion to commit. Coleman recently announced her commitment to Enterprise State Community College.
“I loved the coaches and the atmosphere,” said Coleman. “Enterprise feels like home. I love the small school atmosphere and Coach Claire and Zoe make sure to make you feel comfortable and like family. Coach Claire talked to me a lot about her thoughts and the importance of team bonding and being involved in activities as a team. I grew up playing on travel ball teams that were very close groups between the players and families and that was very important to me when choosing a college to attend, aside from the academic aspect of making such a big decision.”
In June, Coach Claire came to watch a tournament and invited Coleman for an official visit. On July 8, Coleman visited the Enterprise State campus.
“I absolutely loved everything about the visit when I went. I feel everything happens for a reason and God placed Coach Claire at my tournament that weekend for a reason,” said Coleman.
Coleman’s parents introduced her to the game when she was only 5, and a few years later, her parents and Coach Davey started a travel ball team.
“They taught me the skills and knowledge of the game and from there on I just fell in love with softball! I have had multiple coaches who believed in me to play at the college level and helped push me to reach my goals to play in college. I cannot thank Coach Kim, Coach Caity Jo, Coach Carey, Coach Scott, Coach Chris, and Coach Battle for constantly working with me and believing in me no matter what. Coach Brad and Coach Chris have helped me so much this season in travel ball to gain my confidence on the field as well as my goals towards college ball. I definitely can’t go without thanking Coach Wallace at Boss Up Performance for helping me with speed and agility, helping me train to be at the level needed to play in college. Without God, my family, friends and coaches, playing at Enterprise State would never have been possible,” said Coleman.
Coleman hopes to help the Lions improve on the field in 2027 and get back to the playoffs.
“My goals would be to continue to improve my game as a whole to help my team continue to win games. I want to give 110% effort every time I step on the field to be the best teammate and leader for our team. There is always room for growth in yourself as an athlete and as a softball player and my goals are to continue working at speed and agility as well as hitting.”
Coleman plans to major in Radiology or Sonography.
