Join Autauga County Heritage Association, The Prattaugan Museum, and the City of Prattville as we celebrate the remarkable legacy of our city’s founder in a way that honors both our past and our future. The celebration will take place on Friday, July 31, at The Lyric at Esther’s, where festivities begin at 5:15 PM.
More than 185 years ago, Daniel Pratt transformed a small settlement along Autauga Creek into what would become the City of Prattville, a community built on innovation, hard work, and a pioneering spirit that continues to define us today. His vision extended far beyond building a successful business. Daniel Pratt believed in creating a thriving community where industry, education, opportunity, and civic pride would improve the lives of the people for generations to come. Through determination and an unwavering commitment to excellence, he transformed Prattville into one of Alabama’s earliest industrial success stories, leaving a legacy of leadership, service, and community investment that still inspires us today.
The evening will feature remarks from Senator Clyde Chambliss, Reverend Larry Patton, and Mayor Bill Gillespie, each sharing insights into Daniel Pratt’s life and enduring legacy. The program will culminate with a special announcement from Mr. Jeremy Day, President of the Autauga County Heritage Association, highlighting an exciting new chapter in preserving and celebrating Prattville’s remarkable history.
Following the program, enjoy a live concert by hometown country music artist and America’s Singing Cowgirl, Jessie Lynn, one of Alabama’s rising stars. Known for her powerful vocals, heartfelt songwriting, and authentic country sound, Jessie Lynn has shared the stage with nationally recognized artists and continues to earn fans throughout the Southeast. Born and raised in Prattville, Jessie Lynn reflects many of the same values Daniel Pratt believed were vital to building a strong community. Her lifelong commitment to service, leadership through 4-H, dedication to agriculture, and more than 2,000 hours of community service reflect the principles of hard work, perseverance, and giving back. Just as Daniel Pratt built a city through innovation and opportunity, Jessie Lynn proudly represents Prattville through music, education, entrepreneurship, and community service, demonstrating that lasting success is measured not only by personal achievement but by inspiring others and investing in the place that first believed in you.
This special evening is more than a celebration of our history. It is a celebration of the people who continue to write Prattville’s story. From Daniel Pratt’s vision in the 1800s to Jessie Lynn’s journey today, Founder’s Day showcases how the values that built our city continue to shape its future.
