Autauga County Records First COVID-19 Death; Across U.S., 20,090 Recoveries Reported; See Links for Statistics by State and World

As of 1:20 p.m. today, April 6, Autauga County has had its first fatality related to COVID-19 according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

According to the ADPH, there are 2089 confirmed cases across the state. 14,765 people have been tested. There are 55 deaths reported as of 1:20 p.m. April 7, of those 39 are confirmed as related to COVID-19.

There have been 271 hospitalizations across the state since March 13, 2020 related to COVID-19.

In our area:

Autauga County: 12 cases confirmed, one death.

Chilton County – 20 cases confirmed, 0 deaths.

Elmore County – 20 cases confirmed, 0 deaths.

Montgomery County – 72 cases confirmed, 1 death.

Tallapoosa County – 33 cases confirmed, 1 death.

According to information on the Johns Hopkins University website which follows world cases, as of 1:20 p.m. April 7, in the United States, there have been 11,851 deaths related to COVID-19 so far. There are 20,090 Recoveries reported.

The United States is leading the world in confirmed cases, which stands at 379,965 as of 1:20 p.m.

Total deaths worldwide stood at 79,091, with 295,696 Recovered so far.
