Teenager Shot in Elmore After Dispute over $100; Two in Custody With Cash Only Bonds

Town of Elmore: An argument over $100 at the Valero store in Elmore, ended with a shooting of a 19-year-old male subject on Oak Field Road in Elmore this morning.

The victim who has not been identified is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg but is expected to recover.

Two people are in custody, according to Elmore County Sheriff’s Office Investigator/Sgt. Bruner.  They are Frank Jackson, 18, of Elmore and Maurice Monroe, 36, of Elmore. Both faces charges of Assault 1st, Harassment with intimidation, and two counts of criminal mischief. Both have a Cash Only Bond of $57,000 each. The incident occurred this morning around 9:20 a.m.

According to Investigator Bruner, the argument began at the Valero store. Later, the suspects returned in the area of Oak Field Road and multiple shots were fired at a group of people, with one hitting the victim and others hitting nearby vehicles.

Shortly after the shooting, the Elmore County Sheriff’s office issued a BOLO (Be On Look Out) for two suspects and a vehicle. A short time later, the BOLO was canceled as both subjects were in custody.

The matter remains under investigation.
