Looking for a fun outdoor event the whole family can enjoy? Great news—CityFest, Prattville’s signature community celebration, is happening this weekend, May 2–3, at Pratt Park. Now in its 37th year, this annual event kicks off Friday evening, and this year admission is free.
This event is open to the public, and individuals of all ages are encouraged to enjoy the festivities.
“We want everyone to come out,” Patty VanderWal, President of the Prattville Chamber of Commerce, said.” There will be a variety of arts and crafts, everything you could imagine.”
In addition to a variety of craft vendors, food vendors will also be on-site, serving up delicious cuisine to satisfy every craving.
“People can shop, and there will also be food vendors on site,” VanderWal said. “We will have all kinds of different options.”
This year’s CityFest promises a wide variety of activities designed to entertain and engage children of all ages, making it a fun-filled event for the whole family.
“There will be a petting zoo, face painting, inflatables,” she said. “We will have all of those things for children. In addition, with it being held at the park, it will be open for kids to enjoy as well.”
The excitement starts Friday evening with a free, live concert that promises great music, a lively atmosphere, and a fun way to kick off the weekend festivities.
On Saturday, festivities start early and continue throughout the day.
“There will be three local bands performing throughout the day,” VanderWal said. “The stage will be outside the stadium. It will be near all the arts and crafts vendors and food vendors, so people will be able to listen to music, shop, and eat.”
Friday: The Rock Mob 6 p.m.
Saturday: The Blackbird Pickers 10-11:30 a.m.
Taylor Bagi Band 12-1:30 p.m.
The Alex Walker Band 2-3:30 p.m.
For those planning to attend CityFest, please note that the location has changed this year. Due to ongoing construction in the downtown area, the event will be held at Pratt Park, located at 460 Doster Road.
