MONTGOMERY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, has claimed the life of an Abbeville man. Kevin T. Guilford, 39, was fatally injured when the 2018 Volvo tractor-trailer he was driving left the roadway struck a parked commercial vehicle and then a building before catching on fire and becoming engulfed in flames. Guilford was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 80 near the 119 mile marker, approximately five miles west of Montgomery, in Lowndes County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
