Azalea Training Center of Millbrook was the focus of the Millbrook Area Chamber’s Giving Luncheon held Thursday at Catfish House.
Each year, the Chamber hosts and event, selecting an area charity or nonprofit to be recognized, as well as receive support through monetary donations or gifts from wish list. The center caters to adults with development disabilities, helping them learn new skills, and offering a family like environment centered around personal development and fun.
Clean Supplies were requested by center officials, and Chamber members and their guests delivered. There were also monetary gifts, such as a check from the Millbrook Men’s Club to support expenses.
Participants in the Azalea Training Center’s adult day program also entertained the packed house by singing Christmas Carols.
A fantastic lunch was prepared by Catfish House, and desserts were presented by Ashlyn’s Cake Cottage of Millbrook.
Guests were reminded that the Azalea Training Center is the Grand Marshal for Millbrook’s Christmas Parade Saturday. Christmas events begin at 9 a.m.at Village Green Park with plenty of vendors, food trucks and shopping opportunities. The parade will roll at 2 p.m. This event is RAIN OR SHINE.
