Zachary Bigley is the first ever mayor of Pine Level and was elected Tuesday night, Dec. 5th to conclude the first election of the newly incorporated town of Pine Level. Autauga County Probate Judge Kim Kervin confirmed Zachary Bigley as the new mayor with the unofficial results.

The unofficial results for the Pine Level Election should be certified by Kervin at the latest on Friday Dec. 8th.  Kervin also confirmed that Bigley received 60 votes, Josh Register received 30 votes and Joy Simpson received 15 votes in this historical election.

There were two indicated provisional votes in the Pine Level Election that officials and the board of registrars are still investigating.

“For our office it’s a tedious process but we enjoyed working with them and I look forward to seeing the good things that will happen in Pine Level. It’s really neat to see that part of history,” Kervin said.

Bigley was a big advocate for the Pine Level incorporation and was on the committee to make Pine Level an official town.

“We have a lot to learn, it’s a new town, a brand-new council and a group of people that are volunteering their time and navigating the first steps. We’re new but were moving forward and learning as we go,” Bigley said.

This will be a two-year term for the newly elected mayor and councilmen, and Pine Level will follow the municipal schedule in terms of a 2025 election, Bigley confirms.

“It’s a lot of foundation that we are going to be laying in the first two years. Lord willing, Pine Level will be around 200-300 years from now. These first two years are going to be so instrumental to laying the first foundation for our future. It’s important that we take our time, we don’t get into a big rush and we help lay that foundation for the future,” Bigley said.

The Pine Level Town Council swearing in ceremony will be Monday, Dec. 11th at the Pine Level Community Center.
