May Fest in Wetumpka event coming May 26 to honor Older Americans Act of 1965

From Central Alabama Aging Consortium

Central Alabama Aging Consortium invites you to our biggest in-person event of the year, May Fest, in honor of Older Americans Act of 1965.  Around 400 senior citizens will gather at Wetumpka Civic Center to remember the oldies of Motown!  The seniors have been invited from 18 senior centers across Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery counties.  This is an invitation only event that we think will give you plenty of visuals, audio opportunities, pictures, and interviews with some of our region’s most engaged seniors.

To help them along we have signed up a series of Motown Acts (otherwise known as CAAC staff) who will belt out the best of Motown with the help of DJ Preston Frazier and a karaoke set up.  These themes are a feature of Mayfest. Last year we were at the Zoo.  In years past we’ve been under the big top and even held a Senior Fiesta in 2014.

This year’s event is at the Wetumpka Civic Center from 9am to 1pm on Friday, May 26.

Central Alabama Aging Consortium is one of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Alabama.  We provide an array of state and federally funded programs helping senior citizens and citizens with disabilities with daily living. From hot meals to in home help, CAAC has provided services to citizens in Autauga, Elmore, and Montgomery Counties for 47 years.
