THE ELMORE COUNTY TECHNICAL CENTER

The Elmore County Technical Center has recently added the Teaching and Training program to their list of course offerings. This Teaching program has allowed students to be a part of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), a nationally recognized organization where they prepare and compete in areas specific to their training as future teachers.  FCCLA holds annual local, state and national conferences where students are given the opportunity to attend and participate to represent themselves, their schools and their communities.

In March, ECTC Teaching Program attended the FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Montgomery, Alabama.  This was the first time ECTC had ever attended or competed at the conference. While at the conference, Olivia Giddens, a second-year student in the Teaching Program, competed in the FCCLA Teach and Train STAR Event.  Olivia was not only the first student to represent ECTC at the SLC, but she also placed first in the Teach and Train STAR competition and received an invitation to the National Conference this Summer in Denver, Colorado.  This is a huge honor for Olivia, the ECTC FCCLA Chapter and the Teaching Program as a whole!

We wanted to Spotlight Olivia Giddens and all of her accomplishments to bring some attention to this amazing student and potentially help get the word out about raising funds to get her to Nationals. Before students can attend the FCCLA National Leadership Conference, now and in the future, we need to raise enough money to help pay for registration, airfare, lodging, meals and other expenses.  The ECTC chapter is working very hard to raise money to attend these conferences, but they cannot do it alone. We are reaching out to you to ask that you consider making a donation to support their teaching and leadership development journey.

All sponsors will be recognized through ECTC and local FCCLA social media outlets.  This is a wonderful opportunity to show how much you are invested in our community, schools, and future teachers.

Please mail your donation check to the address below.  Checks can be made out to ECTC.  Please designate in the note that this donation is for FCCLA Leadership Conferences. Someone from our chapter will follow up with you within two weeks of receiving your donation.
