Autauga County Sheriff: Traffic Stop leads to Drug Charges

Our units have been working hard today! On today, February 3, 2023, in the 11 o’clock hour, one of our deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to it not displaying a tag. The driver and passenger were identified after being ran through databases.

Upon approaching the vehicle, our deputy could smell an odor of marijuana emitting from within the vehicle. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was removed from the vehicle followed by the passenger. A search was conducted on the vehicle by the deputy.

 Obtained from the search was a zip lock bag of marijuana inside a Doritos bag, two marijuana pipes, and a red Route 66 box containing marijuana shake. The individuals were arrested for Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Our deputies are working hard to ensure the safety of the citizens of Autauga County!
