On November 27, 2022, First United Methodist Church of Prattville’s modern service will change locations to Pratt Hall. The modern service is held at 11:00 am every Sunday, and has been held in the church’s sanctuary since July of 2022. To celebrate the beginning of the Advent season, the modern service will be moved back into Pratt Hall, a space traditionally reserved for Wednesday night activities and special events. FUMC Prattville’s modern service features a live band, with a short message and time of community.

Pratt Hall had been the location for FUMC’s modern service since its beginning in the spring of 2021. However, in the summer of 2022, the modern service was moved into the sanctuary where the traditional service is held. The change began as an experiment, but was ultimately a long-term solution while the church’s associate pastor was away on paternity leave.

“We are so excited to move back into Pratt Hall,” Mat Napp, director of modern services at FUMC Prattville says. “My vision for Advent is to create a ‘winter wonderland’, and we have a lot of great ideas for the holiday season. Our time in the sanctuary was truly a blessing: it taught us how to look at things from a different perspective, and has shown us valuable lessons we can’t wait to take back into our home space. It truly feels like a homecoming, and many of the church members are super excited to return.”

The series for this year’s Advent season is entitled “What A Name” and will focus on the various titles of God. The series will span four weeks leading up to Christmas, and each sermon can be heard as a standalone. FUMC Prattville currently has two services: a traditional service at 9:00 am and a modern service at 11:00 am. The church hosts life groups between services and a men’s group at 8:00 am. Additionally, the church will begin a Legacy Prayer Team in the coming weeks.

First Methodist Prattville is a United Methodist Church that serves Prattville and the River Region community. FUMC Prattville strives to create an atmosphere of comfort, connection, growth, worship, and service.
