PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Zoe! Friendly, Good with Kids but Not Other Dogs

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Our featured pet this week is Zoe.  She is a really pretty dog with a lot of love to give to her new home.

Zoe is a 2-year-old female Boston Terrier mix who has already been spayed.  She came to the shelter as an owner turn in because she was not getting along with the other family dog.  Zoe is black with white markings and she has an unforgettable face!  We just love the various expressions she can make!  Zoe weighs 35 pounds so she is considered to be a medium sized adult dog.  She won’t get any bigger.  This girl is friendly and sweet to people and would be good in a home with children.  However, Zoe does not get along well with some other dogs.  We would suggest she be an only dog in the home or if you have another dog to bring your dog out for a “meet and greet” with Zoe before you consider adopting her. She prefers to live indoors and, according to her previous owner, she is working on her house training but does sometimes still has occasional accidents inside. Zoe is leash trained and very well behaved when she is being walked.  Why not come out and take Zoe for a “getting acquainted” walk and see if she wouldn’t be a great choice to live with you?

Our adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.   The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.  We do close one day each month for staff development.  That date will be chosen soon for July.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

Thank you for all you do for these precious pets.

Sincerely,

Ara Horn
