FROM THE ELMORE COUNTY COMMISSION
Central Alabama Aging Consortium (CAAC) is partnering with the USDA, GA Foods, and the Alabama Department of Senior Servies to provide boxes of food for those in need tomorrow at the Wetumpka Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Food distribution will total 560 food boxes on a first come/ first serve basis. There will be a limit of one box per car unless the driver is providing transportation for a senior citizen with a disability who does not drive and lives in a separate household.
Each box will contain 8 pieces of fresh fruit, 5 pounds of pre-cooked meat (chicken or pork), approximately 5 pounds of assorted vegetables, 12 ounces of cheese, 1 pound of butter, and the equivalent of one-half gallon of milk.
