Wetumpka Police are investigating the death of a female, after her body was found in the parking lot of County Hospital this morning just after 5 a.m.
They are asking for assistance from anyone who may have information to call 334-567-5321.

From the Wetumpka Police Department: On Friday, June 19, 2020 at approximately 5 a.m., Wetumpka Police Department patrol units responded to Elmore Community Hospital (500 Hospital Drive) in reference to an unresponsive subject in the parking lot.
Upon arrival, units located a black female deceased, from an apparent gunshot wound, in the driveway at the entrance of the cafeteria. The coroner responded and transported the victim to the Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy to be conducted. This is an active death investigation and we are unable to release any other information at this time.
