Autaugaville Mayor Curtis Stoudemire Addresses Temporary Closure of Park due to COVID-19

FROM MAYOR CURTIS STOUDEMIRE, AUTAUGAVILLE

Greetings Autaugaville citizens;
Recently there has been some talks on social media directed towards me and the town park being locked. Let me address this and be clear. The world is in the mist of a Pandemic that is wreaking havoc.

People are dying (over 116,000 in the United States alone) and enduring tremendous medical stress. Medical field workers are enormously overworked, families are stressed, unemployed and trying to hold it together. Everyone is deeply affected by this health crisis. Positive tests are being recorded every day. Deaths are being reported every day.

Whereas, I take no pleasure in having to take certain actions, locking the park being one of them, it is my responsibility to do all I can to ensure the safety, Health and wellbeing of ALL Autaugaville Citizens. I ask for everyone’s help in understanding what the world is up against and please abide the orders the Doctors, Scientist and Health Experts are asking us to abide by.

Please practice Social Distancing (6 ft. of separation), wear face covering when out in public or large gatherings and stay home as much as possible. This Pandemic has inconvenienced everyone. If we do our part to help minimize the spread until a vaccine is developed or a cure is found, we can return to happier more fulfilling way of life. Thank you, God Bless you and God Bless the Town of Autaugaville.
