PAHS Pet of the Week: Meet Elena! Very friendly and Affectionate, but Will Need Some Training

FROM PRATTVILLE AUTAUGA HUMANE SHELTER

Elena was chosen to be our featured pet this week.  Hopefully, she will be able to find the perfect new family.

Elena is a 3-year-old female Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie) mix who has already been spayed.  Elena is predominately black with brown markings and she has a bit of white markings too.  She has huge ears that are constantly moving around as she takes in all the sounds around her.  Pretty little Elena weighs only 13 pounds so she is considered to be a small adult dog.  This sweetie pie is not leash trained and she is not house trained.  We do know she is quite friendly and affectionate.  She is very playful and loves to play chase!  Elena never meets a stranger and would be great with children in her new family.  She would also not mind having other dogs or cats in her new home.  Looking for a small dog with huge potential to be a great new friend and companion?  Elena just might be the perfect choice for you.  If you are interested in being Elena’s new family–don’t delay.  Small dogs find homes quickly.   NOTE:  Due to COVID 19 we are asking that you call the shelter and make an appointment to meet our adoptable pets.  Please call 358-2882 between 11-4 Monday through Saturday to schedule an appointment.

Our adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  We have returned to our regular hours of Monday through Saturday from 11 am until 4 pm.  We will be closed for Memorial Day on May 25th.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.

Last week’s featured pet was seen by his owner, after being at the shelter since early May, but is now back at his home.

Things like this happening mean so much to these pets and to us!

Sincerely,

Ara Horn
