Meet Baron-PAHS featured pet of the week

From: Ara Horn

We always hope that fosters will become owners after being placed—it does happen often!

Baron is a 2-year-old male Shepherd mix who has already been neutered.  He came to PAHS as a stray and he was never claimed by his owner.  Baron’s medium length coat is black with brown markings.  He currently weighs 42 pounds so he is considered to be a medium sized adult dog.  This handsome fellow is quite active and playful.  We know he would appreciate a nice fenced yard where he could safely exercise.  Baron would be good with children.  Baron would enjoy life best with an active family who would take up lots of time with him and include him in their outdoor adventures.  This handsome fellow is already house trained.  He would be fine with other dogs in his new family.  Baron is ready to go home with some lucky adopter but since we are not allowing adoptions at this time, he is available for foster until the Covid-19 epidemic is over. If you are interested in fostering Baron, please send an email to [email protected].

Our normal adoption fee for dogs is $120.00 and is $50.00 for cats.  These fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at  participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs”, our dogs have screened heart worm negative.  The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  Due to the COVID-19 virus situation, our staff will be available for phone calls only from 8:00 until 12:00 on Monday thru Saturday.  We are not doing adoptions at this time.  Many of the PAHS pets are currently in foster homes so anyone interested in adopting needs to call us during the hours listed to set up an appointment to meet the animal they are interested in meeting.  For more information about our shelter please call 358-2882 during the hours above,  find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email [email protected]., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.
