The United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force has official notified CrimeStoppers that Murder Suspect Anthony Stoddard is in Police custody.  Stoddard is no longer wanted by Law Enforcement.

The Montgomery Police Department charged Anthony Stoddard, 26, of Montgomery with murder. Stoddard was taken into custody today by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.

On Friday, Jan. 17, at about 9:15 p.m., MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 4200 block of Mobile Highway in reference to a subject shot. At the scene, they located Tametrius Richards who had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

MPD’s investigation indicates that the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that escalated. Further investigation identified Stoddard as the suspect. No additional information is available for release in connection to this continuing investigation.

Note: A criminal charge is an accusation. The defendant is assumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
