On Thursday, February 6, Stanhope Elmore held their signing day watch party in the front atrium of the high school.

Four student athletes, Jaylen Walker, Rufus Jones, TJ Jackson, and Trey Duncan all signed football scholarships to play with different schools.

Walker signed with Carthage College in Wisconsin, Jones signed with Cisco Junior College in Texas, Jackson signed with Troy University in Alabama, and Duncan signed with Fort Scott Community College in Kansas.

Brian Bradford, Athletic Director at SEHS, spoke on what this signing day meant for these four young men.

“This is a special day. Any time you sign a college scholarship, it’s unbelievable. We’re blessed to have four signing here today, and hope to have more in the future. These guys are our leaders. They were the ones that were always there, giving 100 percent all the time, and that’s what it takes. They did what they needed to do in the classroom, and on the football field – that’s why they’re up here right now,” Bradford said.

Congratulations to all these young men on their college signings, and best of luck at the collegiate level!
