Suspects wanted in rock-throwing incidents targeting vehicles in Elmore County

Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individuals connected to a series of dangerous incidents that occurred on the evening of Saturday, June 27, 2026. At approximately 9:02 p.m., surveillance cameras captured a vehicle and its occupants collecting large concrete rocks from the front parking area in the 200 block of Barnett Boulevard. Later that same evening, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:05 p.m., the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office received more than 15 reports of a dark-colored sedan throwing large rocks into oncoming traffic. 

These incidents resulted in at least 15 vehicles being struck and damaged, placing multiple motorists at significant risk of injury.

Investigators have identified the same vehicle as being observed on surveillance cameras at multiple gas stations along the route where the incidents were reported. The vehicle was seen traveling from the Tallassee Highway/Cherokee Trail area toward Holtville Road/South Jordan Dam Road. The individuals associated with this vehicle are wanted in connection with multiple charges, including:

• Felony throwing or shooting into an occupied vehicle

• Felony and misdemeanor criminal mischief

• Misdemeanor reckless endangerment

A reward of $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to the identification and arrest of the occupants of the vehicle.
