The Capital City Punishers LEMC have been working hard for the past year to raise money to benefit the  Millbrook Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa. That hard work paid off big time, with $4,000 being raised by the organization, and used to purchase 60 bikes for area children in need this Christmas.

The crew went shopping this week and loaded up on bicycles which will be distributed to those families. The Capital City Punishers are filled with members in law enforcement and military, and many in the ranks hail from the Millbrook Police Department.

From the Capital City Punishers LEMC: “The past few days have made all that hard work of the Blue Santa Poker Run worth every second. We have purchased over 60 bikes and we aren’t finished. None of this would’ve been possible without all of our sponsors and many supports. 🖤 Here’s to bigger and better next year!” 🖤💙🖤💙

Operation Blue Santa was a huge success this year thanks to the generosity of organizations, businesses, churches, Civic groups and individuals.

“I am so proud to work and live in a community with people who do so much to give back to those in need,” Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said. “This year has just been overwhelming in such a positive way. I thank all of my people who worked hard on this project and I am so thankful for everyone who took part. On Christmas morning, I want everyone who made a donation to this great event to have an extra smile on their face, knowing their efforts made a big difference in the life of a child for Christmas this year.”

Well over 200 area kids were selected through an application process. This is an annual event created by Lt. Don Pugh with the Milbrook Police Department.
