PRATTVILLE, Ala. – Prattville YMCA hosts their 8th Annual Sink-A-Palooza, Aug.16, 2025, at the Bradford Branch Pool to raise money for kids and families to participate in their programs for free.
“The Y does so much for our community, and we want to be able to open that up to every child and every family,” said Jessica Sedgwick, Marketing Director of the Prattville YMCA.
Sink-A-Palooza is a competition between local leaders and businesses to see who can raise $2,000 the fastest, which “sinks” their boat. Participants pay to see competitors dunked in ice water, dive off the diving board, slide down the water slide, or be splashed.
The competition is only a portion of the day’s events as food trucks, games, hourly giveaways, inflatable water slides, and a live DJ also added to the fun.
Prattville YMCA offers a range of opportunities to help individuals thrive, including fitness classes, swim programs, youth activities, and social events. These offerings are designed to enhance wellness and foster meaningful relationships.
“The Y is bigger than a basketball game or a gym,” said Keith Cantrell, Assistant General Director of the Prattville YMCA. “It’s about being a stable place in people’s lives.”
