Elmore County Juvenile Court
The Elmore County Juvenile Court, in partnership with the Elmore County Children’s Policy Council and community organizations across the county, is proud to announce the upcoming “Let’s Get in the Game” Parent Resource Fair, designed to help families and young students begin the school journey with confidence and support.
The event will take place on Monday, June 8th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at 17 Springs in Millbrook, Alabama.
This county-wide initiative is for all school aged children and their families with particular emphasis on families with pre-k, kindergarten and first-grade students. The goal is to connect parents with educational resources, school support services, family assistance programs, and community partners committed to helping children succeed from Day One throughout their educational experience.
“We want every child in Elmore County to have the strongest possible start to their educational experience,” said District Judge Ben Baxley who presides over Juvenile Court. “This event is about bringing families, schools, and community agencies together to make sure parents know they are not alone and that resources are available to help their children thrive.”
Families attending the event will have the opportunity to meet representatives from several local organizations and school systems, including:
• Elmore County Family Resource Center
• Elmore County Public Schools
• Helping Families Initiative
• Tallassee City Schools
• Elmore County Juvenile Court
• YMCA
• DHR
In addition to valuable information and resources, the evening will feature a free hotdog dinner and a family movie beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Organizers hope the event’s fun, sports-themed atmosphere will encourage families to become active participants in their children’s educational success while building stronger community connections.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact their child’s school for additional information regarding the initiative and available services.
