A Curated Collection of Distinctive Southern Art

Beginning on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the AUTAUGA COUNTY HERITAGE ASSOCIATION, in partnership with the Dixie Art Colony Foundation, will present “SOUTHERN ART THROUGH THE AGES” at the Prattaugan Museum. The museum is housed in the historic McWilliams-Smith-Rice House located at 102 East Main Street in historic downtown Prattville. The Greek Revival house was built in the 1840s. Hours of operation for the museum are Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am–3:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:00 am–2:00 pm.

The exhibition will feature a curated collection of Southern Art, including pottery, drawings, serigraphs, stone lithography, and paintings. Creation dates for the artwork range from the 1850s to the present day. The exhibition will continue through the summer and into the month of September. Thank you to Mark Harris for his assistance with the display!
