At approximately 9:20 a.m. Friday morning, October 29th, the Trustmark Bank called the police department in Eclectic to report a robbery in progress. Running out the front door onto Kowaliga Road, the man got got away with about two thousand dollars from the teller’s drawer.
Sheriff and police vehicles descended on the scene, arriving just minutes after the robber fled. Chief Robert Head sent officers into the bank and urged everyone in the area to be on the alert for the perpetrator. At the time of this report, he is still at large. Chief Head asks for the public’s assistance with any information that could help the investigation.
The chief gave the following description of the thief: Light complexioned black male, wearing a red Chicago Bulls cap with number 23 embroidered in gold, black and blue lined facial mask, black or navy-blue hoodie, black pants and shoes. Stood approximately five feet six inches tall, weighed between 130-140 pounds. Appeared to be between twenty to twenty-five years of age.
The man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note stating it was a holdup and telling her to empty the drawer, which she did. No bank personnel were hurt in the exchange.
