CALL FOR ENTRIES…The City of Millbrook is seeking local visual artists to display their artwork to celebrate Black History Month at the Millbrook Art Mill Gallery, 3560 Grandview Road, Millbrook, AL. 36054. Our 2nd annual exhibition honors African American contributions and invites wide-ranging artistic expression of Black heritage and culture.
We are seeking works that celebrate, reflect, and explore the Black community’s stories, experiences, and contributions. This is a unique opportunity for emerging and established artists to showcase the diverse richness of African American history and heritage through visual art.
Artists of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences are encouraged to submit work and be part of an event that celebrates diversity and creativity.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Two (2) entries per person.
Accepted media includes:
• Painting/Drawing/Mixed Media
• Photography
• Graphic Art
• Ceramics
• Printmaking
• Fashion Design and Apparel
• 3D (Paper-Mache, sculpture, quilting, jewelry, etc.)
REQUIREMENTS
All pieces should be delivered ready to hang or display. Badly joined frames, smudged, ragged, wavy, poorly cut mats, smeared glass, and paintings not wired for hanging will not be accepted.
Please attach the following to the back of each submission:
• Artist’s name
• Title
• Medium
• Price or NFS (not for sale)
IMPORTANT DATES
• Artwork Delivery & Installation: Tuesday, February 10 & Wednesday, Feb. 11; 9 am – 5 pm, Millbrook Art Mill, 3560 Grandview Road, Millbrook, AL.
• Opening Reception: Friday, February 20, 2026; 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm
• Exhibition Dates: February 20 – March 27, 2026
• Artwork pick-up: Monday, March 30 & Tuesday, March 31; 9 am – 5 pm
COMMISSIONS, SALES, LIABILITY
There is no fee to exhibit at the Art Mill Gallery. If you choose to sell your work, the City of Millbrook/Art Mill will retain a 20% commission on all exhibition sales. The City will pay each artist 80% of their work sold upon exhibit closing. All artwork must remain on display until the exhibit closes. Although reasonable care will be given to handling all works, the gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage. Works will be screened, and we reserve the right to refuse to display any works deemed objectionable or offensive.
