Colorful costumes, lively music and beloved storybook characters will take center stage as Millbrook Community Theatre presents “Alice in Wonderland the Musical” from July 16-26, inviting audiences of all ages to journey down the rabbit hole for a family-friendly theatrical adventure.
Directed by Michael Proper and Missy Price, the production transforms the classic tale into a high-energy musical featuring memorable characters, whimsical sets and plenty of laughter as Alice navigates the curious world of Wonderland.
According to director Michael Proper, cast and crew members have spent weeks preparing every detail to create an immersive experience for audiences.
“Our over-the-top costumes depict all of your favorite characters from the story, and the colorful set will whisk you away to Wonderland,” Proper said.
Proper said audiences can expect an energetic performance. “The audience will be dancing in their seats from the time Alice falls down the rabbit hole straight through to meeting the Queen of Hearts for a game of flamingo croquet,” he said.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Millbrook Community Theatre depends on ticket sales and community support to continue producing live performances for the area.
“We thank all of those that were able to help with this show and would appreciate future support to ensure live theatre can continue to thrive in Millbrook,” Proper said. “This show is not only fun and entertaining for the whole family, but it also brings loads of laughter.”
Performances will run from July 16 through July 26 at the Millbrook Theatre. Tickets are $15 plus a ($2.50 fee) online, or $20 at the door. You can purchase them at the Millbrook Community Theatre website at www.millbrooktheatre.com or at the door.
For families looking to enjoy an evening of live entertainment close to home, Alice in Wonderland the Musical promises an imaginative escape filled with music, laughter and the timeless charm of one of literature’s most beloved stories while continuing the community theatre’s tradition of bringing the performing arts to Millbrook.
