Louie is a 10-month-old male American Bulldog mix who has already been neutered. He is a return adoption, after being adopted as a puppy, because his owner is moving and can’t take him with the family. Louie is a very handsome, but a very BIG, fellow who is very much still a puppy! He is white with brown/brindle markings; and he weighs 52 pounds. Louie has boundless energy and does not seem to realize his own size. It is obvious no one has really worked with him to teach him acceptable behavior. Louie is very sweet but very powerful. Due to his size, it is not recommended he be in a home with young or small children. We are unsure how he would do with other dogs–so if you have another dog, you will be required to schedule a meet & greet with your dog at the shelter. Louie needs an experienced owner who is willing to be patient with Louie and take up a lot of time with him to make sure he is properly exercised. Louie is eager to please–he just needs someone to work with him. He would require a securely fenced yard where he can properly run and play.
Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under ‘special needs’ our dogs have screened heart worm negative.
