PRATTVILLE – Jesse Rogers, 37, a now former Autauga Metro Jail corrections officer, finds himself behind bars this morning, according to his former boss Sheriff Mark Harrell.

Rogers was booked into the Metro Jail this morning just after 10 a.m., concerning alleged threats to fellow employees made Monday after he was called in for a disciplinary matter, Harrell said.

After that Monday meeting, Sheriff Harrell said Rogers allegedly made multiple threats to other employees. Harrell said his office planned to swear out a warrant for Rogers’ arrest.

However, this morning Harrell said Rogers showed back up to the Autauga County Courthouse and was “hanging around the parking lot.” He was taken into custody and booked into the jail.

“Basically, (Rogers) threatened to burn down the jail with everyone in it,” Harrell said. He has been charged with making a terroristic threat. “He told other employees that they didn’t know who they were messing with. That is not going to be tolerated in Autauga County.”

Currently Rogers is listed on the roster for the Metro Jail, but no bond has been updated as of this report. Harrell said if Rogers eventually makes a bond, he could be released. However, if he fails to make bond in a timely manner, he will be transferred to Lowndes County, out of the jail where he once was employed.

Rogers had been employed by the Autauga Metro Jail for the past 14 months.
