The Prattville Police Department is investigating a Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree and seeks the public’s help in identifying the suspects.

Prattville Police Investigators released a photo of three unknown suspects wanted in this ongoing investigation. Investigators say on January 31, 2024, the pictured suspects attempted to pass multiple counterfeit bills as U.S. currency at Publix, located at 2451 Cobbs Ford Road, Prattville, Alabama.

The suspects were identified by investigators as two black males and one black female. The suspects were seen leaving the business in a silver SUV. There are no other details available for release at this time.

The suspects are wanted for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 1st Degree. Alabama Code Title 13A Criminal Code § 13A-9-5 states a person commits the crime of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree if he possesses or utters any forged instrument of a kind specified in Section 13A-9-2 with the knowledge that it is forged and with intent to defraud. Criminal possession of a forged instrument in the first degree is a Class B felony.
