Thousands gathered for the rollin’ good times at the Prattville Mardi Gras parade on Saturday where countless moon pies, toys and beads were thrown for all.

Led by the Prattville Mardi Gras Grand Marshal Jeremy Pyles, there were numerous unique and diverse floats that held constant friendly waves and smiles for the crowd. Almost all the floats were covered with the signature green, gold and purple colors of Mardi Gras as they rolled behind Pyles through downtown.

Pyles was chosen as the Grand Marshal for his exceptional work in the Prattville community, doing children’s workshops with the Cultural Arts Center, as well as numerous other ventures. These include being the Prattville Community Chorus Director and the director for the Music Ministries at Prattville First Methodist Church, chairman of Distinguished Young Women of Autauga County, and he was named by the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce’s as a Top 20 Under 40.

The parade rolled at 2 p.m. from Court and Fourth Street near the Autauga County Courthouse, following the same parade route as the Prattville Christmas parade.

Beginning at 11 a.m. festivities began with food, arts and crafts and specialty vendors in two separate locations, at the Partners in Pediatrics parking lot on Main Street and the other location for vendors will be at the Spillway Park on Court Street.

Between the sea of beads, candy and fun that was had, the parade finished rolling over an hour after its start, but even if the rolling has stopped, the good times are always had in Prattville.
