Scott Nickerson

The volleyball program at Prattville Christian Academy will add another person to the list of former players that move on to play collegiately after Baileigh Seale signed a scholarship to play for Chattanooga State.

Seale, a senior, was a member of the 2022 class 3A state championship team and cited that the dog pile was one of her favorite moments at PCA. Seale was also on the 2023 team that again advanced to the Class 3A state tournament.

During her senior season, Seale was nominated for the Montgomery Advertiser Player of the Week. She was awarded Serving Queen” for 109 aces in one season.  Additionally, in her senior season, Seale also contributed 131 assists, 230 digs, and 44 kills.

PCA Volleyball Head Coach Kaylon Cantrell had high remarks for Seale. Baileigh is loved and respected by her teammates. She is always working to improve her skills, not only in practice, but coming in outside of practice for extra reps as well. She was always encouraging her teammates and pushed them to work hard in practice and in games. Baileigh always wanted what was best for the team, even if it meant she wasnt always playing the position that she wanted to play. She was willing to sacrifice her body to make a play. She was not only a leader on and off the court, but she was also a spiritual leader for our team, encouraging her teammates with prayer and by her actions,” Cantrell said.

Seale has received several honors for her leadership qualities. At the PCA volleyball awards ceremony. Seale received the Tracy Adair Heart of the Panther award, given to her for her character, hard work, dedication and passion for the sport. She also earned the Leadership Award in 2022.

Seale is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club and the Spanish Honor Society, and will move on to Chattanooga State after graduation where she will continue her volleyball career.

I visited Chattanooga State in July and immediately fell in love with it,Seale said. The school is right by the water, which, growing up was home to me. I knew right away that this was going to be my future home. I had an individual evaluation led by Head Coach Kristy Lenoir and Assistant Coach Sarah Stutheit and enjoyed their coaching style and energy,” Seale said.

Seale explained that Chattanooga State Head Volleyball Coach Lenoir routinely spoke with her in the weeks and months leading into her signing.

Coach Lenoir and I would set up weekly phone calls just to check in prior to committing. I appreciated how Coach Lenoir cared about my life, not just with volleyball, but with school, family and other events coming up on my busy schedule. I know she has a true love for her program and will treat her players as her own. That was exactly what I wanted in a school.”

Seale plans to go into the medical program at Chattanooga State and study speech, occupational or physical therapy. I believe Chattanooga State will provide me with the ability to be successful academically, as well as with the volleyball program. My goal is to be a great team player, in life and on the court. I also believe a good aspect of being a student athlete is being diligent in everything I do and helping others do the same,” Seale said.

Seales coaches and teammates at PCA also believe that she will thrive at Chattanooga State. We have high expectations for Baileigh as she heads to Chattanooga State. I think she will fit in perfectly there, and she will continue to get better and grow as an individual and as a volleyball player. She is a difference maker, so I know she will continue to be a difference maker for their program as well,” Cantrell said.
