Prattville senior Kaylee Robles is a two-sport athlete that has excelled both on the diamond for the Lions’ softball team, as well as the football field for the school’s first ever flag football team. Robles has signed a softball scholarship to attend Anderson University in South Carolina.

“I chose Anderson University because I just fell in love with their campus and whole environment,” Robles said. “South Carolina is such a pretty state and truly felt like home the second I stepped on campus. And of course, they have a very impressive softball program. My goals for up there is to just focus on school and softball. I want to be the best student athlete for myself and my team and make my coaches and parents proud.”

Robles played softball for the South team in the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) All Star Sports Weekend in the summer prior to her senior year, helping lead the South to a win over the North.

“The experience was amazing! I loved every second of it and the girls I was on the South team with. It was truly something I will never forget. I enjoyed learning new coaching and making new friendships.”

Heading into her senior softball season, Robles is committed to working hard every day to get better as an athlete and teammate. She is determined to help the underclassmen coming into the program and wants to have fun doing it.

Robles’ love for softball started approximately seven years ago when she was riding past Newton Parks with her father and saw a sign for softball tryouts. Since that time, she progressed to playing for numerous travel teams, to include Crossfire and Freedom in 10u/12u, Jaguars and Show Elite at 14u, Adidas Premiere at 16u, and now plays 18u for Easton Gold.

While Robles’ future at the collegiate level is in softball, she took the advantage of playing for Prattville High’s first ever Flag Football team during the fall. She started at both receiver and cornerback for the Lions, rarely coming off the field. In the Lions’ first season, she helped lead the team to the Class 6A-7A semi-finals. In the Final Four contest against Central Phenix City, Robles intercepted a Red Devils pass in the end zone and returned it for 60 yards. She also had a touchdown reception.

Robles enjoyed her one season playing flag football for the Lions. “It was so amazing! I loved every second of it too and we made it so far for us to only be on year 1. The growth we made is truly just so impressive.”

Robles expressed gratitude for the support received from the Prattville community.

“I appreciate how much the community, and everyone has our backs 24/7. To our sponsors feeding us before games, to providing us buses and overall just a great atmosphere to play ball in. I truly am thankful for everyone who helps us out.”
