After being located in north Alabama last night, Jason Wade Hudson of Deatsville was booked into the Autauga Metro Jail just in time for his first appearance on multiple new charges.

Those new charges include Sex Offense-Incest With Minor, Sex Offense-Sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old, Obscenity-Production of Pornography With Minors, Sex Offense-Rape- Domestic Violence. Add to that the 75 counts of possession of child pornography he already had on a prior arrest, bringing a total of 79 charges he will ultimately face in court.

He was represented by attorney Richard Lively this afternoon before District Judge Jessica Sanders. Judge Sanders went over Hudson’s charges. He told the judge he understood those charges. He will be held without bond at least until the Monday hearing.

Otherwise, the hearing was continued until Monday, after a request from Chief Assistant District Attorney Mandy Johnson. The DA’s Office will hold a hearing regarding Aniah’s Law on Monday, as they attempt to have Hudson held in the Autauga Metro Jail under no bond.

Hudson’s former wife, Farren Jill Hudson, remains in Autauga County Metro Jail on her own sexual charges involving minors, with no bond. Those charges are Sex Offense-Sodomy-With A Girl-Strong Arm and Sex Offense-Sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

Aniah’s Law was passed last year in Alabama and gives judges more discretion in denying bail to people charged with some of the most serious crimes. The bill is named after Aniah Blanchard, a Homewood teenager who was kidnapped and murdered in 2019. Her killer was out on bond from a previous kidnapping and other charges at the time Blanchard disappeared.

On Monday the District Attorney’s office will present their evidence to try and prove that Hudson is to be considered a danger to the public, and should not be let out on bond. The defense will also have a chance to argue his defense.

It is expected that more information concerning the specific charges against Jason Hudson will be presented Monday, in order to give just cause why Hudson should be held in jail with no bond. Judge Sanders will also preside over that hearing.

Hudson was scheduled to turn himself in to authorities Thursday, but did not show up. He was located by the US Marshals in north Alabama last night. Autauga County Sheriff Mark Harrell credited the SBI, the Marshal’s Task Force and Prattville Police Department who assisted in locating Hudson. “I am just glad it is over and (Hudson) is in custody,” Harrell told the EAN this afternoon.

The EAN will be covering court Monday and have a full report.
