Elmore Public Schools begin Monday, Autauga Public Schools on Aug. 10

FROM RICHARD DENNIS

SUPT. OF ELMORE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Editor’s Note: For those in the Millbrook area that will be traveling early along Main Street, remember the Seniors will be led to school by the Millbrook Police Department from Village Green, along Main Street, to the entrance of Stanhope Elmore High School. The Seniors will be led to school beginning at 7:30 a.m. sharp!

It is that time!  School is in session officially for Elmore County students on Monday August 8th.  Information on the start of school is available on each school’s website.  The first week of school will create heavy traffic in all school zones, so please plan on longer travel times.  Current enrollment numbers are relatively high and may cause more delays than normal, so please be patient as we work to accommodate new students.

Monday each student should receive a packet of information to include an Elmore County Code of Conduct handbook and a forms packet to be completed by parents and guardians.  My tip to parents is to assist students as needed in completing the forms and then parent sign them.  Also, review the Code of Conduct handbook with your student and make sure all guidelines are understood.  These forms are required and should be returned to school as soon as possible.

Parents please note that students will have to pay for lunch meals based on their eligibility status.  To qualify for free or reduced meals families must complete a meal benefits application that can be accessed at www.Myschool apps.com

Paper copies will also be made available at each school. Breakfast will continue to be served in the classroom at no charge.

We are looking forward to seeing students return Monday, so until then, have a great weekend!
