Thursday, June 16 was a special day for the Millbrook Area Chamber of Commerce as several local businesses and residents were honored and a new board of directors was sworn in by Mayor Al Kelley.
The 2022 MACC Annual Meeting and Small Business Awards was held at the Alabama Wildlife Federation NaturePlex and luncheon was served to the large group who had gathered. In fact, the event was sold out.
Millbrook Mayor Al Kelley inducted new members of the Board of Directors, which included Kimberly Anderson, Cindy Browder, Jamie Brown, Don Duncan, Ingrid Graves, Ann Harper, Kevin Kelley, Harvey Starling, Jaclyn Taylor and Jamal Thomas.
The gavel was passed as well from outgoing Board President Penny Nichols to DJ Taylor.
The Ambassador of the Year award went to the entire group of chamber ambassadors, which included Lindsey Batrez, Kristina Boddie, Carol Bowman, Syreeta Duncan, Joyce Evans, Carla Wilson, Jordan Halloran, Tanner Hicks, Angie Jordin, Heather Knight, Pamela Mitchell, Michelle Wilson, Bryishun Pernell, Jeremy Powers, Chad Taunton, Lisa Van Wagner and Ashley Williams.
For the Small Business Awards, for the Emerging Small Business category (1-5 years in business), the winner was Main Street Vintage Market and for the Small Business category (1-10 employees), River Region Vision Source was awarded the honor.
For the Medium Business award (11-50 employees), Don Duncan All-American Auto and Tire took the honor while MAX Credit Union won for the Large Business category (51 or more employees).
