Third Annual Big Fish Challenge Kayak Fishing Tournament coming to Wetumpka June 25

ELMORE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

ELMORE COUNTY – The Elmore County Economic Development Authority (ECEDA) is hosting the third annual River Region Kayak Anglers (RRKA) Big Fish Challenge on the Coosa River on Saturday, June 25th. The tournament is open to anyone. Registration will start at 6:00 pm on Friday, June 24th at the City of Wetumpka Administration Building (408 S. Main Street Wetumpka, AL 36092) with the mandatory captains meeting following at 6:30 pm. The $50 entry fee (cash only) is due at registration.  There will be a $500 guaranteed prize to the biggest bass. There will also be pay-out places according to the number of entrants (no less than 5 places). Free t-shirt with registration (while supplies last).

On Saturday, lines go in at first safe light and lines must be out by 3:00 pm. Boundaries will be any public access from Jordan Dam to the confluence of the Coosa and Tallapoosa River, or any public access on Lake Jordan for those not wishing to fish on the river. Weigh-in and awards will take place at the Wetumpka Administration Building at 4:00 pm. There will be a 3 fish limit scored by length. RRKA will be using the Fishing Chaos app for submitting and scoring fish.
