FROM THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF ELMORE COUNTY

Many, many thanks to Bluewater Broadcasting and the below listed businesses for sponsoring and hosting the 3rd annual “Paw it Forward” donation drive for the three area Shelters. We greatly appreciate all who donated food and supply items to help all the pes we care for and your support and donations truly make a positive difference. Make sure to thank Lewis Lawn Equipment Inc, Montgomery Eye Physicians, Best Friends Pet Resort, The Depot Furniture Gallery, & America’s Car-Mart.

More thanks to the Wetumpka Winn-Dixie for their support via the Winn-Dixie Community Bag Program that ended 29 February. We greatly appreciate that they thought of our Shelter like this.

Do you know about our Tail’s End Thrift Storeco-located with our Shelter at 255 Central Plank Road, Wetumpka, AL? As a non-profit organization fund-raising is at the top of our priorities so that we can continue our mission to help so many Elmore County animals in need. Our 100% Volunteer run Thrift Store is a vital asset and our single largest fund-raising activity. The store is open for shopping Thu, Fri & Sat’s from 9-3 and you might be amazed at what you can find there.

And if you are looking for a place to Volunteer a few hours week or month, our Tail’s End Thrift Store might be the place for you. Our Thrift Store is 100% Volunteer run and as spring yard sales and house cleaning cranks up bringing in more donations, we would love to invite more volunteers to come lend a hand. If you can give a few hours a week or perhaps one day a month it would be a big help and we think you will find our volunteers a simply fun crew to work with. The store is open for shopping Thu, Fri & Sat’s from 9-3 and for donations those same days but from 9 am – 2:30 pm. There are also volunteer opportunities on Mon, Tue or Wed with sorting, pricing and placing items so all the new items are ready for sale by Thursday.

If you haven’t been to our store, please just stop by between 9 am – 3 pm on a Thu, Fri or Sat to check it out and talk to the folks about volunteering. While you are there, please also thank our Volunteers for their endless hard work operating our Thrift Store as all proceeds go to our shelter to ensure we can be there for all the pets that come to us needing our help.
