FROM RICHARD DENNIS, SUPERINTENDENT OF ELMORE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS
This is Richard Dennis, Superintendent of Elmore County Public Schools. Governor Ivey has closed all public schools starting March 19 through April 6, 2020. Elmore County Public Schools will be open Monday March 16 through Wednesday March 18. Students that choose not to attend due to coronavirus concerns will have excused absences and it will not count against the exemption policy. All Elmore County Public Schools activities and extra-curricular activities will be suspended from March 19 through April 6, 2020.
The information from the Elmore County Commission and the State of Alabama is constantly updating and Elmore County Public Schools will respond accordingly. Currently, Elmore County Public Schools is planning and organizing to provide meals or other essential services with appropriate staff during the school closure dates. Announcements will be made to confirm the schedule of times and locations these services will be provided.
Our prayers are with you and your families as we continue to work through this health crisis in our communities and the world. Please, be safe, continue to practice the current health recommendations from ADPH/CDC and have a great day!
