Principal Ewell Fuller encourages the varsity members of the SEHS Cheerleading Squad in preparation for their National competition in Orlando, Fla., Saturday.

Members of the Varsity Cheerleading Squad at Stanhope Elmore High School are in Orlando, Fla., today, preparing for National Competition. They will compete Saturday morning and as soon as we know the results, we will let you know.

But, before they left, the crew was treated to a hearty breakfast, thanks to the Front Porch Grill, at an event held at the Millbrook Civic Center Thursday morning. Helping serve the girls were members of the Stanhope Elmore High School Mustang Football Team.

Principal Ewell Fuller told the girls and Coach Naquin how proud SEHS and the community is of their accomplishment. This is the second year in a row the team has qualified for Nationals.

“These guys (football players) are here today because you are always there for them, cheering them on at games. We thank Coach Brian Bradford and his players for being here to show support,” Fuller said.

Many area officials gathered with the girls and their parents for the breakfast, sending them off with a prayer for their safety.

“We are just so blessed that you are all here,” Fuller said. “We have so many positive things happening at the school. We have the best kids, the best teachers, and it is just an exciting time.”

We will update on how the team did at National Competition as soon as we know the results Saturday.
