As spring settles in across Millbrook, longer days and warmer weather are bringing the community back outside, along with the return of one of the season’s most anticipated local events. Mayfest 2026 is set to take place Saturday, May 16, offering a morning filled with live entertainment, children’s activities, arts and crafts, and a wide variety of local vendors. From handmade goods and original artwork to fresh, Alabama-grown produce and homemade treats, the festival highlights the creativity and hard work of growers and makers right here in the River Region.
The event provides a chance for residents to slow down, step outside, and reconnect with the people behind the products, whether that’s the farmer who grew your produce, the artist who created a piece by hand, or the small business owner building something from the ground up. With vendor booths open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mayfest offers a relaxed, family-friendly setting to explore, shop, and support local.
“Mayfest takes place when we’re on the verge of shifting into summertime weather and leisure activities,” said Danae Morgan with the City of Millbrook. “It’s a great time to engage with your friends and neighbors by being outside and enjoying fun, family-friendly experiences. Small businesses are the backbone of our small town and Mayfest is the perfect opportunity to support our local vendors. A day where we can invest in our community and keep our local economy thriving.”
Hosted by the City of Millbrook’s Cultural Arts and Special Events Department, the festival continues to serve as a seasonal kickoff, marking the transition into longer, sun-filled days and a renewed sense of community connection. As the community gathers next weekend, Mayfest offers not just a place to shop, but a reminder of the value in supporting local and staying connected to the people and stories that make Millbrook feel like home.
