Bells Will Be Ringing Dec. 14 in Honor of Alabama’s Birthday; Special Event at Prattville Primary Slated

We are sponsoring a bell ringing on December 14 at noon to honor the birthday of the State of Alabama and YOU are invited!

We will be ringing the historic bell at Prattville Primary School along with all bells brought to the ceremony. The historic bell is located on the west side of the school at the intersection of Washington Street and 4th Street. We will gather at 11:45 p.m. 

The 70 chapters of the Alabama Society DAR are inviting and encouraging everyone in Alabama to join us in ringing bells to celebrate statehood day in Alabama. It is hoped that all the bells across the state of Alabama will ring at least one time, and as many as 22 times, in honor of Alabama becoming the 22nd state on December 14, 1819. All bells are welcome.
