Janet Krantz, of Millbrook, to speak at Historic Alabama Emerald Coast Conference of the Global Methodist Church

Montgomery, Alabama – The Alabama Emerald Coast Conference of the Global Methodist Church will hold its Celebration Launch on Friday, Sept 8 and Saturday, Sept 9 at Saint James Global Methodist Church located at 9045 Vaughn Road in Montgomery, Alabama.

Among the speakers will be Rev. Janet Krantz, Pastor of the Robinson Spring Methodist Church of Millbrook. She also serves as Presiding Elder of the River Region/Plains District.

This is an historic occasion as this will be the inaugural Annual Conference of the Alabama Emerald Coast Conference which officially began on May 7, 2023. The Alabama Emerald Coast Conference is a part of a new movement of Methodism which has formed a new denomination called The Global Methodist Church which launched on May 1, 2022, and now has over 3,150 churches worldwide with others joining every day.

The boundaries of the Alabama Emerald Coast Conference include all of the Southern half of Alabama from Auburn and Clanton South to Mobile and Gulf Shores. And it includes all of the Panhandle of Florida from Pensacola to Destin to Mexico Beach. This new Conference has grown quickly and already has 135 churches and 165 clergy who are members with more joining each week. 

Everyone is invited and welcome to attend the Celebration Launch which begins at 11:00 am on Friday, Sept 8 and concludes with a very special ordination service on Saturday, Sept 9 which begins at 1:15pm. There are 39 clergy being ordained at this ordination ceremony. Global Methodist Church Bishop Scott Jones will deliver the message at this service.

Other speakers for the weekend Conference include Rev. Keith Boyette, Transitional Connectional Coordinating Officer for the GMC; Dr Jeff Greenway, President Pro Tem of the Allegheny West Conference of the GMC; and Dr. Lester Spencer, President Pro Tem of the Alabama Emerald Coast Conference of the GMC.
