Top Photo: Getting behind the wheel was a big deal for the kids at the Touch a Truck Event held over the weekend in Prattville.
For the first time in two years, Prattville residents got the chance to come out to Pratt Park and touch a whole bunch of trucks at the city’s Touch A Truck event, which brings all sorts of vehicles and families together for a fun time.
Traditionally, the Touch A Truck event starts with the Mayor’s Bike Ride and this year, that’s what happened again as Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie and lots of kids and families rode together into the park, kicking off the fun.
Gillespie, after riding into the park with his friends, gave away two bicycles to a couple of lucky winners and welcomed the big crowd to the city’s event. The City wants to Thank Pepsi for donating the bicycles that were given away to lucky winners.
Among the trucks and vehicles present were Prattville Police vehicles, a Prattville Fire Department ladder truck and ambulance, dirt movers, a lawn mower, a big rig, a school bus, and a few others, all of which allowed kids the chance to sit behind the wheel.
Food trucks were also available for hungry folks and lots of music played at the event, which helped celebrate Kids to Parks Day.
